this GT40 mkII with a Holman Moody 427 was ordered by Shelby American, placed 2nd in the 12 hour Sebring in 66, DNF'd at LeMans and was driven by Mark Donohue in both. It then went on the show circuit, before getting stored at Holman Moody until '70 when it went to the Indy Speedway Museum. Effectively, it's been raced hard and put away, without being street driven, ever. http://www.carguychronicles.com/2012/05/ford-gt40-mark-ii-like-new-hardly.html

New Cafe Racer Society blogspot always has cool stuff, here's just a sample of recent posts
this guy above should be given a medal for being an inspiration to make the thing you want when no one sells one. Take a Vespa, use it to power a watercraft. Brilliant, and fuel efficient I bet. When you get to the otherside of the water, dismount the scooter and use it to get around, then return to find no one has stolen your watercraft cause no one can figure out how!
how to make an innertube tire, and why
Above: in the words of Jack Benny "Now that's just silly"
Awesome useful art
"damn" and "it". My hat is off to it's creative maker!

Cool boat and RV found at the Motorama
If you enjoy big fin boats, click through to the "best of" post http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/02/from-50s-when-tailfins-were-required.html
A funky cool Owens was trailered to a car show a year ago, it's not as drop dead cool as this boat, but in the same field http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/09/cool-way-to-hul-cool-old-owens-fishing.html

the annual "Best Show On Turf" car show of the San Diego Auto Museum is now at Liberty Station... the city upped the rent on the Balboa Park turf to way over budget
above and below are interesting owner added bits I haven't seen before
The steering wheel is from a Lincoln, the engine from a T-Bird, and the turn signal stalk on the left side is the shifter from fwd to reverse
Very nice owners, they are the 3rd owners and this boat spent it's previous life in Lake Tahoe
I don't think I've ever seen a wind wing on the back windows of any car... til this Hudson Hornet.
