this GT40 mkII with a Holman Moody 427 was ordered by Shelby American, placed 2nd in the 12 hour Sebring in 66, DNF'd at LeMans and was driven by Mark Donohue in both. It then went on the show circuit, before getting stored at Holman Moody until '70 when it went to the Indy Speedway Museum. Effectively, it's been raced hard and put away, without being street driven, ever. http://www.carguychronicles.com/2012/05/ford-gt40-mark-ii-like-new-hardly.html

Miss America VIII, and it's twin Harry Miller V16's. Just 1113 cu in apiece. They were supercharged when installed to set unlimited water speed records in 1933. About 1800 hp each.

the Hagerty magazine Fall 2012 issue has a 6 page write up about it

New Cafe Racer Society blogspot always has cool stuff, here's just a sample of recent posts

this guy above should be given a medal for being an inspiration to make the thing you want when no one sells one. Take a Vespa, use it to power a watercraft. Brilliant, and fuel efficient I bet. When you get to the otherside of the water, dismount the scooter and use it to get around, then return to find no one has stolen your watercraft cause no one can figure out how!

the annual "Best Show On Turf" car show of the San Diego Auto Museum is now at Liberty Station... the city upped the rent on the Balboa Park turf to way over budget

above and below are interesting owner added bits I haven't seen before

The steering wheel is from a Lincoln, the engine from a T-Bird, and the turn signal stalk on the left side is the shifter from fwd to reverse

Very nice owners, they are the 3rd owners and this boat spent it's previous life in Lake Tahoe

I don't think I've ever seen a wind wing on the back windows of any car... til this Hudson Hornet.
